Mysuru: The Cultural Capital of Karnataka

Mysuru is one of the biggest cities in the Southern part of India. The place has a recorded history of over 1000 years, which makes it rich culturally and full of historical masterpieces. Mysuru was the capital of great kingdoms for over 600 years. The city, in itself, is a paradox that is meant to be experienced first-hand. It is quiet, as much as it is busy. It is modern in every aspect of infrastructural development for a city so old.

The nearest International Airport is in Bengaluru, which is almost 180 kilometres away. There is an airport in Mysuru, with planes to and from Chennai.

Mysuru is connected to major cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Mangalore, and Delhi. Regular services are running through these lines and you can take your pick according to your convenience.

There are buses within 5 mins in Mysore, if you want to get around to places. If you are travelling by road, the nearest city of Bengaluru is 150 kilometres away.


Mysore is a year-round tourist destination. October-February offers the most pleasant climate. But, if you don’t mind some sunlight, you can visit all through summer. Monsoon in Mysore may get a bit chilly and may interfere with your schedules. So, plan your trips accordingly.
