Jim Corbett National Park is one of the well known and aged national parks in the country. Located in Uttarakhand, the national park is about 521 square kilometres in area, the park contains various landscapes such as marshes, grasslands, lakes, hills, etc. The park is a wildlife hotspot consisting of 50 species of mammals, and over 500 species of birds and 25 reptile species. Over 70% of the total area is forest and it provides a natural habitat for many animals. There are 110 species of trees in the park.

- Jeep Safari: A jeep safari is the best way to experience this National Park. The safari in an open jeep through the areas with the most number of animals such as the majestic Bengal Tiger, elephants, monkeys, black bears, etc. is one of the best experiences for nature and animal lovers. You get to see all these wild animals in their natural habitat, and they make up for some amazing photos. The park is divided into four zones and you can select the one you want to visit during the safari.
- Elephant Safari: The Elephant Safari is one of the best ways to experience the wildlife of the Jim Corbet National Park to the fullest. Riding with a trained mahout on the back of an elephant, you can see the most beautiful sights in the park; valleys, jungles, animals etc. You can also enjoy the wildlife sitting at a safe height of about 8-10 feet. The elephants travel through a predetermined path and are available in the Dhikala and Bijrani zones only.
- Corbett Orchid View: Situated in Ramnagar, the hotel is one of the best and most convenient in the area. The Corbett Orchid View features a garden and terrace. HOW TO REACH JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK
Pantnagar Airport is the closest airport (around 80 km) to this National Park. The sanctuary being a popular tourist destination, there are direct taxi services available from the airport to the national park. Pantnagar Airport is connected to Delhi and has regular services to Delhi.
The nearest railway station is in Ramnagar, which is only 5 kilometres away from the national park. Ramnagar is a major destination or stopping point of many train services from cities across India.
What is the best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park?
BEST TIME TO VISIT IN JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK
The park experiences mild and pleasant climate throughout the year. But, the preferred time to visit the national park is from November-June. The time of the year is perfect and convenient to check out the entirety of the sanctuary. Summers can get a little hot, but the crowd will be less that time of the year. Some sections of the sanctuary will be closed during the monsoon, and hence visiting is not recommended.
